I am Melissa Marciszko, a Flower Mound, Texas-based professional baby photographer specializing in newborn, baby, and family photography serving the Dallas area. With a special emphasis on newborn photography and documenting baby’s first year, my passion and expertise is firmly rooted in all things tiny and brand new!
I consider it an honor to be the trusted first photographer for so many amazing North Texas families and their newest additions.
Babies don’t keep; portraits capture what life can’t pause.
My own journey to motherhood was an epic, hard-fought battle that often seemed unwinnable. My daughter is literally my dream come true. The knowledge that she would likely be our only child has changed the way I think about everything.
When I had my precious girl, a life-long personal talent and hobby began morphing into a very real and seriously rewarding profession. You can read about my journey to becoming a parent here, but suffice it to say, capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments became a driving force in my life.
I am no stranger to the overwhelming feeling that there is too much to decide in the weeks leading up to the birth of your child. The selection of a photographer shouldn’t be your most daunting choice! I’m all about making things easier on soon-to-be moms and their families. A breathtaking portrait is our ultimate goal, but getting to that point requires a few critical things.
This is where Melissa Marciszko Photography stands out from the rest.
Babies change more in the first year than any other time in their lives and the most fleeting moments are those first few days after birth. The difference between a newborn and three-month-old is mind-blowing. This is DEFINITELY a time that only an expert will do!
On top of countless hours of courses and online training, I have completed mentorships with three different world-renowned newborn photographers. I learned everything I could by shadowing them in person and working in a hands-on environment.
Keeping Little One Safe
The highly coveted newborn photos that everyone shares on Pinterest involve a lot more than just good lighting and a beautiful basket. I am professionally trained in the proper care and handling of a newborn and will never photograph a newborn without my assistant in tow. Arranging your baby into those adorable positions requires two sets of trained hands.
A huge portion of my education in newborn photography is how to lovingly and SAFELY pose your sweet little one so that there is no room for error!
One never knows when baby will decide to make a debut, much like we have zero control over the unpredictable Texas weather or the tummy bug going around preschool. It’s crucial to choose a photographer that builds a thoughtful schedule with plenty of wiggle room.
I never overbook myself and purposely leave time open each week for all the extra stuff life tends to throw our way. This is one of those rarely thought about items that can make a BIG difference in the success of your session!
Clients are treasured guests in my studio. I love to create a joyful and relaxing custom experience for each and every family. We become a team, collaborating and planning in advance to make sure you are well prepared and know exactly what to expect. Oh, and – SPOILER ALERT – one of those things is a batch of my homemade to-die-for chocolate chip cookies.
I’m an authority on exactly two things in this world: Creating beautiful baby portraits and chocolate chip cookies. You want to trust me on this one!
